The World Bank has been providing support to the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and to the Federal Member States (FMS) of Puntland, Southwest State and the Banadir Regional Administration (BRA) among others through the Somalia Urban Resilience Project Phase II (SURP-II) to strengthen public service delivery capacity of local governments and increase access to urban infrastructure and services. The SURP-II includes a Contingent Emergency Response Component (CERC) and International Organization for Migration (IOM) is leading on the implementation of the CERC activities.

The AF 2 project acknowledges the urgency of addressing urban health dynamics, recognizing the need for tailored interventions to bridge existing gaps among diverse communities. The AF 2 project, attuned to the nuanced needs of communities in post-conflict settings, seeks to enhance resilience by promoting optimal health practices and fostering a supportive environment. The main objective of the evaluation was to document the change in knowledge, attitudes and practices amongst the communities in Mogadishu, Baidoa and Garowe regarding health, nutrition and hygiene practices.

During the analysis, descriptive statistics was generated for each question to show frequencies, proportions, and averages. Thematic coding and analysis was conducted for qualitative data by coding themes and patterns that were important and associated to specific research questions and have been incorporated in the report to triangulate the quantitative findings.
