Project: Departmental Data MIS

The KPIS development will be guided by the following tenets;

1. Results that are targeted to be achieved, through which activities, their timing and
   causal relationships.
2. Who need to know? For this, we posit three levels of responsibilities as follows;
   a. Strategic Management (Policy Level)
   – Makes decisions on overall budgets
   – Needs data for long term planning’
   – Supervises the coordination management
   b. Middle-Level Management (Coordination Level)
   – Supervises the implementation of activities
   – Advises the strategic management on long-term plans and budgets
   – Requires data for short term plans
   c. Operational Management (Implementation Level)
   – Specific intervention activities
   – Running day-day data for immediate decision making
3. What do they need to know?
   – Areas to be monitored
   – How they will be reported

The design involved several phases;

• Phase 1 – Needs Assessment and Stakeholder Engagement
• Phase 2 – System Design and Development
• Phase 3 – Data Integration, Validation, and Management
• Phase 4 – Development of a visualization dashboard
• Phase 5 – Deployment, Testing, and Support
• Phase 6 – Training and Capacity Building
