Planning & Evaluation
Donor: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Finland
Location: Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties (Kerio Valley)
The Development and Inclusive Peace for All in Kenya (DIPAK) project covers West Pokot county (Pokot central sub-county), Baringo county (Tiaty West sub county), and Elgeyo Marakwet county (Marakwet East sub county) and has been implemented for a period of two years (January 2022 – December 2023). The DIPAK project was a continuation of FCA’s activities in Kerio valley aimed at promoting peace and security through an integration of livelihood support in peace building initiatives.
The evaluation assessed the relevance of the project and the progress made towards achieving the planned outcomes by measuring the progress towards the project indicators. The evaluation covered the implementation period from 2022-2023 specifically, implementation strategies, program partnerships, monitoring aspects of the project, sustainability of results achieved, scalability of the project results and SWOT analysis of the project.
The evaluation findings were used for learning to inform programming and provide stakeholders and the donor with feedback on the project’s performance and impact. Further, the findings will be utilized for decision-making on whether or not to adapt the strategies as well as inform the development of exit strategies for future interventions. GARTS was involved in Designing and Executing the assessment – Data collection , Analysis and Report development.
